We build interiors the way furniture is built.
Vesper & Oak began in 2011 in a converted apartment in Dhanmondi, with one carpenter on retainer and a stubborn belief that most interiors fail at the joints — literally and figuratively.
Fourteen years later we are eleven people: interior architects, a joinery detailer, a lighting designer and two site managers who live on scaffolding. We still keep a workshop bench in the office, and we still refuse projects we cannot personally supervise.
Our work is warm and quiet: oak, lime plaster, unlacquered brass, deep window seats, storage that swallows the clutter of real families. Nothing that photographs well and lives badly.
Nine live projects maximum, each with a principal attached from survey to snagging.
Joinery is documented at 1:5 and prototyped in the workshop before anything is cut.
Oak, plaster, stone, unlacquered brass. Finishes chosen for year ten, not photo day.
A fixed roster of carpenters, metalworkers and painters we have worked with for a decade.
